We Tried to Compromise
We offered to leave $125 with Inner Power for the time spent preparing the school letter and offered six months for repayment of the balance.
Why the program was not used
The martial arts program was being pursued in connection with our son’s school physical-education requirement. The school arrangement was not approved, so he continued with gym at school and never began classes at Inner Power.
Transparency: I recall being told at enrollment that if the school arrangement was not approved, a refund would be available. That statement is my recollection and is not presented here as a written quotation from the contract.
What Brian McCann said
When I first requested a refund, Brian wrote that Inner Power’s policy did not include refunds for its programs. He offered a membership freeze, a transfer to another family member, or a split membership instead.
What we offered afterward
We explained again that our son had taken zero classes. We offered to let Inner Power keep $125 for the time spent preparing the school letter, and we offered to accept the remaining refund over six monthly installments to make repayment easier on the business.
According to our records, Brian McCann did not respond to those follow-up emails.
